Most vitamin D3 is extracted from lanolin, and sheep´s wool. That’s not the case here. Great Earth’s vitamin D3 is 100% vegan and extracted from algae. The capsules also contain MCT from coconut oil to provide better absorption of vitamin D, as it’s a fat-soluble vitamin.
